SME Bank’s Management Welcomed the Delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos for Understanding Cambodia’s Credit Guarantee Scheme

In the morning of February 28, 2023, SME Bank’s Management, led by Dr. Lim Aun, welcomed the delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos for the study visit to understand Cambodia’s credit guarantee Scheme in order to further develop the credit guarantee scheme for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Laos.
In this important visit, SME Bank is honored to share the good experience and success of the credit guarantee scheme with the delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos for the development of the credit guarantee scheme in Laos.

The CDAS is extended to young entrepreneurs and SME businesses engaging in digital and automation. CDAS is envisaged to assist viable SMEs affected by the economic challenges during this period for better accessibility to financing at a reasonable cost.
The Cambodian financial market is developing rapidly and approaching the saturation stage. However, most commercial banks and MFIs are introducing both cash-flow and collateral-based lending. In general, they required real-estate property such as land and/or building to be served as collateral. According to the feedback from the market, some small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are not able to get loans from banks or MFIs due to collateral requirements.
